Getting Celebrity Looks

Seeing celebrities looking suave and stylish in the newspapers, on ramps, red carpets and other such events is something each of us has always noticed; but what I’m often asked as a blogger is “who’s wearing what” – so I decided to sit myself down and do some research on a few popular looks – and how you can get them. Read on to know more on how some of these divas dressed up; and fear not, this little category of Get The Look (& Style Inspiration) will keep growing with time (:

Gossip Girl Series Finale

WARNING: Read this post only if you’ve already seen the series finale!

The Gossip Girl series finally came to an end this week with the love stories coming to a happy ending and Gossip Girl (well, boy) finally being revealed! While I sort of got over the show a couple of seasons ago (like I mentioned in one of my recent posts), the one thing that kept me going on and watching it was the consistency of amazing clothes that I got to see – major  E Y E C A N D Y <3

With the main characters finally getting married (God, I hope I’m not ruining it for anyone out there!); the cherry on the cake for me were the two gorgeous wedding dresses! While Blair Waldorf (Leighton Meester) wore Ellie Saab for her onscreen wedding with Chuck Bass (Ed Westwick); Serena (Blake Lively) looked her oomphy self for her own ceremony with Lonely Boy, played by Ben Badgely (no clue who she was wearing)!

Tribes Takes Over

Tribal LookThis is one trend that hasn’t budged for a while! Tribal prints have been spotted at nearly all the fashion weeks – and it’s been a great example for the styles that have transformed from making a look ”oh-so-hippie” to adding a ‘touch of chic’. There are colours, monochromes and then there’s the introduction of bags and shoes within the same style section. Moreover, the accessories and nails sections haven’t been left too far behind either. For those of you haven’t tried this out as yet, it still isn’t too late!

Here are a couple of pointers to keep in mind while sporting this trend:

– Don’t change the look of it by adding too much print; tribal prints are very strong and must be able to stand out on your ensemble

– Keep it simple; don’t go OTT (over the top)

– Stay yourself, but manage to experiment every once in a while!
